Kitchen Nook Transformation
When we moved into our house, 2 years ago this month, my parents purchased us a table and chair set from Craigslist to fit into our new little breakfast nook. I loved the lines of the table, but never really liked the chairs. The table & chairs were oak stained and the chairs were very “country” in style. So, for the last 2 years I’ve been wanting to change it up a bit and FINALLY this last month I’ve gotten it complete it. A couple months ago I found 6 FREE chairs on craigslist. The chairs were in need of some repair ~ some wood glue, foam & fabric and they were a new creation. Check out these beauties!
Aren’t they pretty??? The chairs were pine colored. I lightly sanded them, painted them black, lightly distressed them & poly’ed them up. I did 1/2 of the chairs with this cute green & brown polka-a-dot fabric and the other 1/ 2 in a solid espresso brown fabric.
You can see in the pic above what the table looked like pre-make-over.
And here she is in all her crisp white glory…
I did the same process with the table ~ sand, paint, distress & poly’ed.
Here’s a view of her lovely legs… my favorite feature of my table.
I can say that I finally am loving my little kitchen nook.
It’s amazing what a little paint can do.
I’m linking up with Kimba’s DIY Day.

Wow, six free chairs??? That's crazy! They, and your table all look great!!
I love how it turned out! The fabric on the chairs is so fun and the colors are beautiful.
I love that table! So cute!
Oh my…so DARLING !!!!!!!!
way cute! Our chairs are black now and I'm thinking of painting our table white too. Now I can see what it'd look like, thanks!
And thanks for stopping by the other day 🙂
Ooh–love the painted chairs and table, and the fabric you chose for the chairs is really cute. Great job!!
I just love polka dots! The cushions are just adorable! Luck you to have a pedestal table- I am on the look out for one as my chairs dont fit under my table good because of the legs getting in the way!
