The Power of a Penny
A big thanks to JCPenney for sponsoring this post!
Do you remember as a kid how excited you were if you found a penny on the ground? I remember collecting and saving my pennies for whatever my current purchase goal was. It might have been a new toy or my favorite candy… but I valued that penny. If you were lucky you might have had access to a penny gumball machine. Somewhere throughout the years we’ve forgotten the power of the penny.
My husband is one of those people who notices change on the ground and will pick it up. My youngest will check the vending machines change area as we leave the grocery store to see if anyone has left money behind. But for the majority of people will just walk past that penny on the ground… me included! Well JCPenney is doing their part to bring back the power of the penny by launching Penney Days!
I’m a stats/survey girl and JCPenney did some research and found out that 95 million Americans (2 out of 5) say they usually wouldn’t even pick up a penny if they saw it on the sidewalk. But nearly nine in ten Americans still keep pennies in their home, a piggy bank or their purse (89%) and they say that pennies can come in handy (88%). Almost three-quarters of Americans (73%) say the penny is an important part of our currency and should not be eliminated… yet they won’t pick one up off the ground… interesting right!
Through March 5, customers can purchase an apparel item from The Original Arizona Jean Co.® brand and can purchase a second Arizona item for just a penny!!! (while supplies last, available in store and on jcpenney.com) JCPenney will continue to host Penney Days throughout the remainder of the year and they have some great deals coming… so keep your eyes open in the future! Definitely will make me think twice before I walk past that lonely penny again.
