Repurposed Cabinet Door Chalkboard Sign for Fall

Thanks for Sharing!

Today I’ve got the cutest Chalkboard Sign for Fall that I made with an old cabinet door.  It’s part of a fun repurpose theme that the Power Tool Team is taking on this month.  We also have an awesome giveaway going on so make sure to check that out below.

Here’s what you need to make this Chalkboard Sign:  (affiliate links provided for your convenience)

If your cabinet door needs a sanding, make sure to do that before painting.  Here’s what I started with.  It was an already painted white cabinet door.

It already had an easy area to paint with that inset.  So I gave it one good coat of chalkboard paint.

Once it was dry I used my drill bit to drill 2 holes in the upper corner to run my fall ribbon through.  Make sure to keep your holes at least 1″ away from any edge.

I cut two 24″ pieces of my fall ribbon.  I tied off with a triple knot on the backside of each of the holes, then joined the ribbons together and tied them into a big bow.

I wrote “give thanks” with my chalkboard maker and hang it on our mini mudroom area.  A super cute sign with a great daily reminder.

  1. What an adorable sign! I happen to have a white cabinet door in my basement that would be perfect for this project. I love how you used ribbon to hang it. It gives it color and goes with the season.
