Repurposed Cabinet Door String Art Display

Thanks for Sharing!

It’s Power Tool Challenge time and this month it’s all about Repurposing!  I love taking something that’s no longer wanted and finding a new purpose for it.  So this month I’m sharing a Repurposed Cabinet Door String Art Display.

Use an old cabinet door to display art

My brother had given me a couple cabinet doors from a kitchen job he was doing.  They weren’t the right size and they had tried to cut them down and use some molding to make it fit – and the homeowner didn’t like the look.  So I collected a couple cabinet doors – score.

So here’s an after photo after it had gotten a good sanding with my favorite sander!  (affiliate links included – see here for more details)

The molding was uneven so it need a good smooth down and a fresh coat of white paint.

Then came the fun of nailing.

Lots of little nails spaced out evening.  They were placed just inside the molding in the inner tray.

Then came the fun with some baker’s twine in blue.  The design totally reminds me of a something I would have doodled as a kid with a compass.

The baker’s twine makes the perfect cradle for the fun summer printable I created.  Are you ready for summer too???
