Step-by-Step Instructions for Your Corn Husk Wreath

I love the texture and the color. So over the weekend I picked up my horn husks. You can find them in the ethnic food aisle or in the produce section of your grocery store (under $3). I grabbed a wreath from Dollar Tree ($1). The wreath at the Dollar Tree is much smaller than Martha’s, but it still worked great.

soaking corn husk
  1. Soak the Corn Husks: Place corn husks in a bowl of water for 10 minutes to soften. Inner husks may need extra soaking for pliability.
  2. Prepare the Husks: Let husks dry slightly until damp but workable.
  3. Glue the Husks: Apply a small dab of hot glue to the wide base of a husk, fold the thinner end over, and press to secure. Attach folded husks to the wreath form, arranging 3 per row.
  4. Layer the Rows: Overlap each row to cover the base of the previous row, continuing around the wreath.
  5. Finish the Wreath: Tuck the final husks under the starting point for a seamless look. Adjust as needed while husks are pliable.

Tips for Success

  • Corn Husk Quantity: One package of husks can make up to 4 wreaths, making this a cost-effective project.
  • Time-Saving: The entire process, including soaking, takes less than 30 minutes.
  • Versatility: Perfect for Thanksgiving decor or as a hostess gift.

I have so many husks left over too. I got enough in my one package to do at least 4 wreaths.  It was very simple too ~ less than 1/2 an hour with soaking time.
