Chalkboard Vases

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I haven’t done a lot of decorating for Valentine’s Day this year… just been super busy with bigger projects (master bedroom) and a bunch of family stuff.

I LOVE this project I did for the DIY Club though.

{Supplies Needed}

Empty, clean bottles

Vinegar

Decoart Chalkboard Paint

Foam brush

Small Paint Brush

White acrylic paint

I used what I had on hand for my bottles.  I love the look of the grenadine bottles I buy, so I always keep those. ( A trick to remove any label remains… soak in vinegar.   With a little rubbing the rest will come off.)

After drying your bottles, use a foam brush to apply the chalkboard paint.

I didn’t use any primer, so it took 3 coats of chalkboard paint to cover them completely.

After the paint had dried well, I drew a whimsical frame on the bottle with a pencil.

With white, acrylic paint and my smallest brush I filled in my frames.

I used 2 coats of white for the frames.

A great way to recycle those pretty bottles!

I hope you have a lovely V-Day!
