Plaid Pumpkin and Acorn
This Plaid Pumpkin and Acorn is a fun theme that the Thrift Store Decor Team is having this month. All of our projects have plaid and/or flannel to them, perfect for fall!!! This month we’re inspired by Sarah from Sadie Seasongoods new book, Crafting with Flannel.

Here’s what I started with.

Let’s get into how to make this cute Dollar Tree Fall Craft
Plaid Pumpkin and Acorn
I found the plank pumpkin and acorn at my local Dollar Tree store. The plaid fabric was found as a bundle at Joann’s.
Supplies:
- plank fall shapes
- plaid or flannel fabrics
- fabric scissors
- mod podge
- foam brush
- x-acto knife
- metallic acrylic paint in Rich Espresso
I started by cutting strips of each of my plaid prints, one for each of the sections of the plank wood pumpkin and acorn.

Use the foam brush and spread an even layer on one of the outer sections of the pumpkin (or fall plank shape). I used the straight edge of the fabric along one side of the plank section so I would only need to trim off the other side.

I repeated the step on the section next to it, using the straight edge of the fabric on one side of the plank as I did in the first section.
Then I moved over to the other side edge and repeated the process. I left the center section undone for now though.

After the mod podge has dried (I waited about 30 minutes), I flipped over the pumpkin and used an x-acto blade, and trim the overhanging plaid fabric.

Here is the pumpkin after 4 of the sections have been trimmed. Then it’s time to mod podge the center section of plaid fabric.

Once you’ve repeated the process by mod podging the center section, letting it dry, and then trimming… you have some adorable fall plaid pumpkins and acorns!

I finished the pumpkin and acorn with some metallic acrylic paint in Rich Espresso.

Now make sure you check out what the rest of the team has created this month using plaid and flannel! So many cute ideas!!!
