Get to Know Your Teacher Questionnaire
Today is our last day of our first week of school! I forgot how looonnnggg that first week is… getting the household back into a school routine… bedtimes, waking kiddos up, packing lunches, filling out a TON of paperwork… it’s exhausting!
This is my youngest this week… 1st day of Kindergarten… I can’t believe how big she looks!
One thing I LOVE to do the first week off school is to give each of my kiddos teachers a “Getting to Know You Questionnaire.”
I think it’s a great way to learn about their teachers and to have some GREAT gift ideas for birthdays, Christmas and end of the year gifts.
I sent an email to each of their teachers, but you could print it up on cute paper and have your kiddo deliver it to their teacher.
So here’s a sample…
We’re so excited that you are (your kiddo’s name) teacher! We’d love if you could take the time to fill out this questionnaire so we could get to know you a little better…

Now you’ll know what you can bake for their teacher… what great gift card they’ll love and use… or if you volunteer in their class you could arrive with their fav Starbucks beverage in hand… I know every teacher would love that surprise!
Sharing this Back-to-School idea with parties in my “PARTIES” menu bar button!
Thanks!! Love this idea and going to use it this year.
As a teacher, I want you to know that I LOVE this idea! You are an awesome parent!!
Thanks for posting this. I as searching looking for a good questionnaire since my son starts school this year. As a former teacher, I know how nice it is to get random little surprises from my students so I wanted to do little things all year long for my son’s teacher. This is perfect to help ensure we give her things she actually likes.
I love your first day of school picture. I have my first day of school pictures scrapbooked here:https://detailsofthemoment.blogspot.com/2010/07/first-day-of-school-scrapbook-page.html
I saved the photos for years and I love the page. Hope your daughter has a wonderful school year. Barbara
As a former teacher I can tell you that the teachers will like this FO' SHO! 🙂 It's a win-win situation because the parents want to buy the teacher something to show their appreciation and the teachers appreciate their favorites! This is a great idea!
Thank you thank you thank you for this! I just sent this off to my kids' teachers – both of whom I don't know well. What a great idea!!!
Um…why aren't your kids in my class?! 🙂 I would LOVE that as a teacher 🙂
I'm a teacher and if I got a lot of these, it could be a little stressful that first week or two back so maybe include that there isn't a time deadline on it or some teachers might just ignore it. Otherwise, awesome idea- I always feel bad when a student gives me a gift that I know I won't or can't use- this would help cut back on that!!!
WHAT a great idea!
I am going to have to borrow that one!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Hope you guys have a great school year. 🙂
Great idea! Thanks so much for sharing. (This would also be great for principals to give to teachers too. . .)
Yes Lori… that was my old pic… I figured I should update my pic. With my 100+ degree temps I couldn't bare to see myself in the cap anymore 🙂
Wait a minute. How did I miss your picture profile change. Knit cap and glasses correct? Or am I confusing blogs. We get to really see you now.
I always thought you were older than me, sorry, you are much younger.
As a teacher and a Mommy I LOVE that idea! Our school actually has the entire staff fill out something similar to that at the beginning of the year and the secretary puts them all in a binder up on the front counter in the office so they can be easily referenced by parents or other teachers, team members, etc.
This is a great idea. If I fill out one of those and give it to my kids do you think I will get anything? I homeschool…so I'm the teacher LOL! But seriously, I think it's a very thoughtful idea.
This is an awesome idea! Wish I had thought of it. My youngest is in her last year of elementary ..this would have been so helpful through the years. Love it!
I love this idea–I am so going to do it. My daughter's teacher is a former student of mine.
I love your idea! That's so great to do that…I have also been doing back to school series this month. Check this one out if out if you have time:
