How to Make a Cement Pot
This month’s thrift store makeover is a fun DIY Cement Pot. I love the neutral, rustic look of cement pots and they are super easy to get that look with any pot you’ve got. I took a basic ceramic pot and gave it some character with only a little bit of work. Check out how cute it turned out.

How to Make a Cement Pot
Here are the supplies you need. Affiliate links provided for your convenience.
- pot
- FeatherFinish skimcoat
- cheap paintbrush
To get the cement finish ready to apply you need to mix it with water. I used a 2 part mix to 1 part water ratio, and I just eye-balled it.
When you mix it together you want it to resemble a thick pancake mix.
Then I used a cheap paintbrush, I like to buy a multi-pack at the dollar store for a buck.
This pot was a shiny pot, so it took 2 coats to cover it. Each coat took less than an hour to dry and that was in 50-degree temps. So this is a quick project!

This is really cool Maryann, I have never heard of this product! I keep eyeing a cement pot (it’s huge) that keeps coming up in my ads and it’s about $600…hmmmm you have my brain spinning now 🙂
